Overview
Archer Aviation is developing Midnight, a piloted all-electric air taxi intended for urban passenger flights. In May 2026 Archer reported closing Phase 3 of the FAA’s four-phase type certification process for Midnight and continuing Phase 4 compliance work. The company has also announced an agreement to acquire Boeing’s Wisk Aero, Insitu, and SkyGrid subsidiaries (transaction expected to close later in 2026 per company disclosures).
